our founder
Jennifer Edens Lazo, the visionary behind Join the Flock, Inc., was a beacon of compassion and resilience. After battling breast cancer herself, Jennifer felt a profound calling to make a difference for others facing similar challenges. In 2018, she founded Join the Flock, Inc. alongside her husband Mario Lazo and her friends Keeli and Jamie Simpson. They had a mission: to alleviate the financial burdens on families affected by cancer by covering essential expenses like housing payments.
Jennifer’s dedication to creating a supportive community and making a tangible impact was unwavering, despite her own struggles. Jennifer helped build an organization and grew a community grounded in her core beliefs of empathy, support, and unity. Jennifer lost her battle to cancer in 2019, but her spirit and vision live on through Join the Flock, Inc. Her legacy continues to inspire and drive our mission, ensuring that her commitment to helping others remains at the heart of everything we do.

Keeli Simpson
Keeli Simpson is a loving wife, dedicated mother, and experienced marketing executive with more than a decade of experience in advertising and marketing. She uses her skills with brand positioning, creative development, and collaboration to keep Jennifer's legacy strong.

Jamie Simpson
Jamie Simpson is the founder & team leader of Simpson Real Estate Group powered by Keller Williams Realty Consultants. He leverages real estate success in the Atlanta area to support Join the Flock Inc.’s financial initiatives, among being the husband of Co-Founder Keeli and dedicated father.

Mario Lazo
Mario Lazo married Jennifer in 2006, welcoming two daughters and a shared staging and real estate business called Casa de Lazo, LLC. Jennifer’s drive to help as many people as possible was a constant during those 19 years together, and her loving spirit lives on with the group and the Lazo family.
Katie Walton
Katie Walton is the owner and principal designer of Flair Interiors in Smyrna, Georgia. Katie and Jennifer were first cousins, and the best of friends from the moment they were born just three months apart. Katie is honored to continue the legacy of Join the Flock, Inc. in Jennifer's name.
Dayna McJenkin
Dayna McJenkin serves as Marketing Director for an Atlanta Logistics Corporation, with past experience working at Universal Music Group. She's honored to be able to use her business experience to help cultivate Jennifer's legacy of helping others.
Emma Walls
Emma Walls helped launch Join the Flock, Inc. with Keeli and Jennifer in 2018. Alongside working in the advertising industry, Emma is responsible for the creative elements and design behind Join the Flock, Inc. and is dedicated to carrying on Jennifer's dream.
Erin Bober
Erin Bober has a background in communication, first in the advertising industry and currently as a speech language pathologist. She is extremely grateful to use these communication skills to build relationships with Join the Flock, Inc. families. Jennifer was a dear friend and Erin is honored to continue spreading joy each time a family joins our flock.
Carla Gates
Carla Gates has a love of documenting soulful memories. As Join the Flock, Inc.’s Photography Officer and Board member, Carla works to tell the stories of Join the Flock, Inc. by capturing the memories we make along our journey of helping those affected by cancer.
Christy Booth
Christy Olliff Booth is a seasoned marketing executive with over 20 years of experience. For Join the Flock, Inc. she focuses on email marketing, social media strategy, event planning, and community engagement. Christy is passionate about leveraging these skills to amplify the mission of Join the Flock, Inc. and continue Jennifer’s legacy.
Courtney Beard
Courtney Beard Elias is a mom of two, a clinical psychologist at McLean Hospital, and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. Jen Lazo inspired her everyday of their 20-year long friendship, and continues to motivate Courtney to spread joy and move mountains! Courtney is grateful to connect with Join the Flock, Inc. families during their journeys and help plan joyful surprises for the recipients.
Lindsey Flynn
Lindsey Flynn leverages two decades of leadership experience in the financial services industry to support Join the Flock, Inc.'s mission of helping families impacted by cancer. Inspired by her 20-year friendship with Jennifer, Lindsey is passionate about continuing Jennifer’s legacy of compassion and support for others. She plays a key role in fundraising, event planning, and strategic initiatives for the organization. Lindsey is driven by a deep commitment to offering hope and financial relief to families during their most critical moments.
