Yes, self-nominations are welcome! If you’re facing hardship due to cancer and could use help with your housing payment, please feel free to nominate yourself here.
Once a nomination is submitted, it enters our review process. We are an 100% volunteer-run organization and receive hundreds of nominations each month. Because of this, it takes time before we can review each one, so please be patient with us.
Yes! We encourage friends and family to nominate the same individual more than once. Having multiple nominations for a person helps us see how much support they have in their community.
Due to the high volume of nominations and our volunteer-based structure, it can take some time before we’re able to respond. We’re a small organization and work as quickly as possible, but we can't guarantee every nomination will receive assistance.
Unfortunately, we are not able to help everyone who is nominated. Our ability to provide support depends on the number of donations we receive, but as we grow each year, our goal is to help more families in need.
The best way to increase the chances of someone being selected is to encourage their friends and family to submit nominations as well. Additionally, spreading the word about our cause and helping us raise more donations allows us to assist more families.
We actively seek nominations for recipients who truly embody our founder’s vision: those who spread joy, lift spirits, and have an unwavering belief in hope, courage, and community. We look for recipients who reflect these values, as they were at the core of Jennifer’s mission. Every nomination is carefully reviewed by our select team of volunteers.
The most effective way to help is by donating or spreading the word about our cause. The more donations we receive, the more families we can support. You can also volunteer with us or participate in our events!

Provide as much detail as possible about the nominee’s situation, including their cancer diagnosis, treatment status, and why you believe they would benefit from our support. The more specific you can be about their financial and emotional needs, the better we can assess the nomination.
We maintain the confidentiality of nominations until a recipient is selected. Once chosen, we work with the nominator to create a unique grant experience that honors the recipient's individual situation.
At this time, we are unable to provide updates on the status of individual nominations. If a nominee is selected, they will be contacted directly by our team.
Due to the high volume of nominations, we are unable to provide individual notifications for those who are not selected. Please be assured that each nomination is carefully reviewed and retained for future consideration. The impact we make is only limited by the resources we have, so the larger our organization grows, the more nominees will be accepted.
If you or someone you know is in immediate financial distress, we recommend contacting some of the other organizations listed above that offer emergency financial aid for families affected by cancer.
Unfortunately, once a nomination is submitted, it cannot be edited. If you need to add information, you can submit a new nomination with the additional details.
